Report a translation problem
Your reputation apparently has to be lower than "Wild Child" with all three factions (the NCR, the Legion, and the Strip) to receive the Yes Man Courier Duster, according to a couple of sites I looked at. Here's a link to the reputation charts in New Vegas. Just remember that if you fail the faction speech check with Ulysses, you should be on your way to getting the Yes Man Courier Duster!

Like the above post says, if Ulysses keeps telling you that you believe in nothing, you're gonna get it.
Note also that normally he talks at length about your choices, the factions, and things you've done for/against them, but if you're truly - TRULY - independent, he'll not have a lot to say.
Gotcha, thanks! I have a feeling I'll end up getting the NCR variant tbh lol
I found the NCR path kind of interesting since it sets the two of you up as a fight between east and west. Of course it also felt weird since I wasn't 100% NCR and normally stab them in the back at the last second for the Yes Man ending.
