Anyone one else visit there? I must say that I now feel that the Fat Man does indeed have a use and is not overkill at all.

I'd done both the Quarry at Sloan and the one near Bitter Springs as well as Primm Pass and the Dead Wind Cavern. Did I miss something? These guys are the APEX predators in this game and they are always good for an adrenalin rush even in my mouse/keyboard environment. So if I did miss something please share.

The deathclaw promontory is an unmarked spot by the eastern edge of the map. Cross the Colorado River at Cliffside Prospector Camp and head due east. On the other side you will see an area that leads up into the cliffs. Make sure you save outside of there as there are some bug when reloading a save in that area (deathclaws can spawn right in your face when you reload).

There are TONS of deathclaws there so bring every thing you can to fight them. There is also some pretty rare loot to be found as well. A full set of T-51b power armour, the body of a set of Enclave armour (the only place to find it out side of a quest), and some enegry weapons (note the loot is found on a pair of bodys that may not appear when you first get there, but if you clear it out and then wait a few time you should get it to appear).

When I went there I used the unique minigun, and was in the mid-30s level wise, yet I still had an insanely hard time. The bugs I mentioned above have to do with the sheer number of deathclaws there.

Yeah it is sort of an easter egg for those who are really brave or really dumb, and like to explore.

Thanks! I had tried crossing to the east side of the Colorado once in another game but I must have given up too soon and concluded that Caesar was untouchable except by barge and following the story line. Never progressed far enough down river to encounter the death claws.

Honestly, by now that place is little more than a good place to use a bunch of 5mm bullets.
