euclid C-Finder not working

I've done the quest and bought the gun from the child and I've even used it before but for some reason the gun won't work now. I will shoot it and the laser will pinpoint but won't actually fire. Then it remains on my screen and follows where I look. I've tried spawning in another euclid C-Finder but that did nothing and I also reloaded and re-launched the game. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Have you completed the helios one quest and chose ARCHIMEDES 2?
Edit: Also the ammo regenerates every day

I think you can only use it once a day.

Did you do something to HELIOS one after that?

This isn't anything to do with him fullfilling certain conditions to use it. It's actually a common bug with the weapon. Unfortunately the only way I know of to fix it is to reload a save from before the bug began. After that, there's a few bugfix mods that mostly prevent it from happening again.

The weapon itself is buggy as hell, not only that but it's fairly weak for what it's hyped up to be. Quite unfortunate.

Well ♥♥♥♥. The last save it worked was 6 hours. I guess this is what I get for siding with the Legion for the first time.

(i finally can help with a problem on the internet)

all you have to do is fire it then quicksave while the animation is going, quit the game and
reenter and it should work
