you can also just piss off the legion. and they'll bring you a marksmen rifle every so often. all you gotta do is shoot their assasin carrying it in the head until he dies.
It is probably one of the most difficult areas in the game. Bring piles of RadX and Rad Away. Likely the best loot pile in the game too.
Yup. Dose yourself and rad x and radaway and make the downwards crawl towards the massive reward. If you're idolized with the boomers, the rebreather one of the Boomers gives you is quite handy.
This video shows where to grab several unique Rifles, and it has a part for the 5.56 Rifle everyone's talking about (It's the "All-American")
Though it does not mention the Unique Varmit Rifle that MattMoo talked about (The "Ratslayer")

Also, the video mentions that you sould only go into Vault 34 and level 15+, Though I've done it at 13-
be careful with broc flower cave though, the giant rats are rather dangerous for low-leveled characters, a smg and plenty of ammo will do you good, along with a fair few stimpaks.
Or go in with another silenced weapon and either a high Sneak or a couple of Stealth Boys.
Or Steady. I've had characters use a Gauss Rifle with about 30 Energy Weapons and popping some Steady was better than having the required skill.
