soundtrack Q
Is some of the music in this game cut and pasted from Elder Scrolls Oblivion? I swear sometimes im walking around New Vegas and I hear music that is EXACTLY from Oblivion. Seeing they are both Bethesda games I could see this happening but im not sure. If not identical the music sounds very similar.

Anyone confirm?

I thought I was the only person who noticed this. It probably just sounds pretty similar to Oblivion's music, but I hear it whenever i'm in caves or near Novac.
The bulk of the in-game music is from Fallout and Fallout 2, not Elder Scrolls.
About the only asset I've noticed in NV that can be traced to that type of TES game is the texture for Ebony veins from Morrowind to represent the sulfur under Vault 19.

Ah I havent played Fallout or Fallout 2 enough to listen to the music. So does that mean the music in oblivion was inspired by Fallout and Fallout 2? Because it sounds very very similar.

Around Novac ^ I noticed aswell

Yes, I believe there are some ambient tracks shared with Elder Scrolls. I play Elder Scrolls and the Fallouts extensively, and Im sure some are the same.

Actually none of them are from Elder Scrolls. TES's soundtracks are composed by Jeremy Soule, Fallout 3 and New Vegas's (and 4) are composed by Inon Zur (with Mark Morgan's Fallout & Fallout 2 tracks).

A bulk of the tracks are re-used from Fallout/Fallout 2 as well some from Fallout 3. And of course, some original tracks for the game.

Scroll all the way down to the bottom for all re-used tracks.

You can look into the game files from your steam folder and find all the music used FYI, including radio tracks.

The one you hear around Novac is from Fallout 3:

Here's Fallout 3's full soundtrack. Explore 2-6 are the most common ones in New Vegas. I'm sure if you poke around, you'll find the tracks you heard that were familiar.

Yes. Yes. I thought I was the only one who thought this. I remember I bought Oblivion on Steam just because this song reminded me of the old days. To be honest, it does sound really similar to something you'd hear in Oblivion. This is the best piece of music in the entire game.

Yeah, Inon Zur's soundtrack to Fallout 3 was similar to Oblivion's in a lot of ways. He really expanded into his own with Fallout 4's soundtrack, though.
