Absoloutely this. New Vegas only accepts XBAWKS inputs, so anything that doesn`t use Xinput has to be emulated as something that does.

That said, stop using controllers for games that care about precision aiming in any capacity you massive pleb.

I have an Xbox 360 wireless and wired controller. For some odd reason in Fallout 3 it gave me problems and i mean alot of problems. Just about every time I was shot the controller disconnected. So, I swicth to a wired controller and it stopped. I just bought New Vegas and I'll see if I have any problems. I do have the "Xpadder" which is a program for games that don't support controllers. i'll let you know how it turns out.

No, problem. Do you have a wireless or wired controller? If it's a wireless controller it maybe because of the driver you downloaded for it. AND if you didn't download a driver for it. I'm willing to bet that's the problem. Are all the drivers for the controller installed? also, is it a Xbox or Ps controller

Also, just read the store page. It said " partial controller support " meaning that not every thing can be controlled through the controlloer. You need a software program like the Xpadder. I spent 10 bucks on the Xpadder but there are one for free. That's were the problem is

I'm still not sure though. I'm almost done downloading. I'll give you some more info afterwhich. I'm really not sure? hard to tell when you can't see the PC in question

I'm guessing I'm not going to be much help with fixing the problem because I'm using an xbox controller.Sony is just going to have problems because it's not a windows product, that's why I went with xbox controller.

I just got through starting a game and every thing is working went to go shoot and the controller disconnected. Plugged in the wired controller and works fine now. Things to try. Free software program like the Xpadder. A program like that regardless of the game will aloow you to play with a controller. You can try a different driver for that Play station controller or different program what ever it is you are using. Maybe there is a Update for the driver you are using? Check. Or buy a Xbox controller. If you buy a wireless one you'll need a adater for it. They cost like 10 bucks on ebay. BUT the game is having problems with the wireless one. So, get a cheap xbox controller you can plug in PC with a USB connector (Wired). Other than that nothing comes to mind.

and this is just a shot in the dark. try plugging the controller in the back of PC not front or side and then restart PC. It might fix problem?

in case you don't know what a driver is. It is software that basicly is a translator for Windows because the product you have plugged in PC has a different lanuage than Windows does. So, what the "driver" does is translates info. IT is REALLY important you have a DRIVER for that PS controller you have otherwise you will never get full funk-ion

Go to Start, Right click with mouse on "My computer" go to Manage. From There scroll down to device manager and double click on it. Then look for your controller which will be in the middle. mine says "Microsoft common Contoller for Windows class" your will be different. But I guessing you'll see yours because it will have a "!" on it meaning there is no driver for it. make sure you do all that or you'll never figure it out. It's a process of a elimination. Once you have exhausted all avenues then buy a Xbox controller.

I know I said alot but that's only because once I start playing i'm not going to stop until I pass out. I'll check back tommorrow. I will be broadcasting if it doesn't freeze up like Fallout 3 did. You can drop in and watch me and ask any questions.
