How to fix the 1 file failed to validate and will be required
I've been dealing with crashes for a while and I noticed that i have the file validate error. I've searched up ways to solve it but none of them have worked. any suggestions?

Then you should state which you've tried and didn't work
Otherwise all your replies here will be stuff you've already tried

I've tried deactivating all mods, ending steam via task manager, running check disc tool, disabling firewalls, putting steam folder in the exclusions list on my anti-virus, deleting local and config files and reinstalling steam.

One file is supposed to fail. InstallScript.vdf is overwritten every time the game launches so steam grabs a fresh copy when validating.

Now, you said you have mods. Do you have NVAC? are you using the 4gb patcher? any unofficial patches?

Yeeeah, you should get NVAC and use the 4gb patcher. I use both and I don't have any crashes.

There's nothing to fix.

The one file is the config file. It will always be changed from default if you start the loader. If this is all you're getting then the file validation completed successfully.

Keep in mind that file validation *does not remove* files. So any cruft you have left over from mods is still going to be there.
