If you have the mark and didn't make them upset before you went to Caesar's powwow, then they wouldn't be hostile towards you in the first place.
It's actually entirely possible to get Idolized with the Legion without losing any rep with the NCR...the key is that you need to get to The Fort without pissing them off first, though.
I did that but its super bullsh*t because you have to do most of NCR quest, then stop, do Ceasars then stop, then sneak-finishing NCR. Basically its not worth it, at least how i did it. Just choosing a side is a much more fun approach
...and that's still not entirely correct. You can do all of the NCR quests that don't involve the Legion, collect a bunch of NCR dogtags, then do the Legion sidequests that don't involve the NCR outside of those dogtags and you'll eventually get Idolized with both factions...
...which then gets tossed out the window if you play anything from someguy2000.
If the goal is to die, anyway. What you SHOULD do, after getting in there, is shoot all of the guards with a silenced weapon that'll actually take them out in less than 20 minutes, grab any Throwing Spears you can, toss one at Caesar's head when he's in [Caution} so a sneak attack doesn't kill him and you can cripple his head, then kill him with a Combat Knife.
