"I could make you care" quest glitched on Thomas Hildern

I choose the farm option and then went to him but since I already spoken through his entire dialogue I guess the quest doesn't trigger that point. Is there a way to fix that? Or better yet, will it turn out the same if I just choose the pulse gun instead?

just load a after savegame and start again..
