The avenger is always the better option, unless your aim is atrocious, and you need the fatter magazine.

I don't really like the Avenger by virtue of the fact that it doesn't act like the weapon it's supposed to be. The extra damage is nice but when I rev up that barrel I expect to be firing a decent amount of time after all that build-up and I don't expect a minigun to be very precise which why they're used in relatively close-range.
