Alice McLafferty has no dialogue for quests in "Heartaches by the Number"
Title basically sums it up. After talking to Cass, I was directed to the Crimson Caravan to work for them. Upon talking to Alice, there are no options to ask about work or anything of the sort. Only questions involving the Crimson Caravan itself and other small talk.

I wish to refrain from using console commands to push the quest along, since such things can be risky.

Any ideas on how to fix? Thank you in advance.

Do you already have a job from them, or a you have a quest from her already. As that is the one neccesary for that mission, it just can be taken before starting the other one.

She should give you the quest "You can depend on me", the quest "Heartaches by the numbers" should advance after you progress into the former

Have you previously delivered the invoice to Thomas Hildern at Camp McCarran?

Is Thomas Hildern dead, or has he previously been dead and then resurrected?
If he's been dead at any point it will lock you out of the "I'm looking for work." dialogue as the conditions use the GetDeadCount function which cannot be reset to 0 even when an NPC is resurrected.
There are workarounds however.

Edit: Go to Alice and use this command...
"ec7b8".sayto player 14d252
All it does is skip the "I'm looking for work." question that uses the getdeadcount check.

It was simply a quest I had already obtained. Thank you though for answering!

I have both "You can Depend on Me" and "Heartache by the Number" It won't give me dialogue options on Alice to continue the quest and when I try to deliver then invoice all it says when I talk to him is "I need to get going."

I thought those quests are triggered by delivering the invoice. There's also another assignment, getting rid of the boss' kid too. I don't want to look it up on the Wiki.

I still have 'Heartache by the Number' but haven't been able to get new dialog for the last part, 'settling accounts'. My only opitions are to just show up and start shooting Alice by myself or with Cass. Except that my rep with NCR is 'wild child'. The bartender at Mojave Outpost already told me she'd rather not trade with me, but she will with higher prices. I already finished and moved on to OWB, but did a slot save for a redo.

Try talking to the assistant at McCarran first. When I turned in the invoice, I got the Vault 22 quest at the same time.
