Courier's Mile is the most difficult area in the game
Im trying to go through the Courier's Mile and it is the hardest area I've ever gone to. By FAR. Saying it is the most difficult area is like comparing a mosquito bite to having all of your limbs ripped off slowly. It is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ insane the level of difficulty. By the time you hurt anything there, they already healed and by the time you kill anything, 100 deathclaws come out and kill you. It is such a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ area and I hate it.

If you're having trouble now imagine beating this area on hardcore with the jsawyer mod. It was the absolute toughest experience I had playing this game. One of the few instances I actually broke out in a sweat in gaming.

The base game is easy as hell, even on very hard the courier's mile isn't much harder considering you're supposed to be maxxed by the time you get there, or close.

If you really wanna see how easy this game can get, get the perk "rad child" and get 800 radiation, 90% of the enemies in the game become a joke.

Well the only way I got through it was with continuous use of Radex, Radaway, and Stealthboys.
Didn't have the Rad Child perk though, that would make it easier.

It also featured one of my most memorable FNV moments. I was crouched in stealth, and a Deathclaw I had just sniped came ambling up, stood over me, and looked slowly to the left and right before walking away.:steamhappy:

It probably took me 10x longer to clear Courier's mile than to complete all events in Ulysses' Temple.

It really depends what kind of weapon you're using.

If you're smart enough to bring some serious firepower(Mercy for example), that area is a piece of cake.

But like I said, you should be smart enough to know that any Guns except Miniguns are worthless there, which is really hard thing to acknoweldge for the players of New Vegas.

I had used a fat man but it seemed a bit too close quarters to not die for me. I used a mix of a combat shotgun an Old Glory. The shotgun was mostly to cripple the deathclaw legs. I had used the Red Flare often but it just didn't do enough damage. Other than that I had a 12.7mm to help me through.

The enemies are beefy and the deathclaws hit incredibly hard, but after you have cleared the place a couple of times it becomes a lot less threatening and becomes an interesting place to see what nonsense you can get away with.
I just ran through it on VH/H (unmodded) at level 40 using an upgraded Service Rifle.

Hint: The deathclaws have 0DT!

Well, Christine's rifle worked well enough from stealth. And a few grenades.

In my opinion, sneak attack criticals are absolutely essential for clearing the Courier's Mile. With Better Criticals, Sneak 100, and Christine's COS Silencer Rifle from OWB, it isn't all that hard to clear. By the time you are completing Lonesome Road, you should be at least level 40 anyways.
