Found a cave entrance guarded by some deadly robots
This is my second playthrough. I have all the DLCs. I was randomly exploring the wasteland, then I stumbled upon a cave entrance near the burned up animal husbandry. I'm early game so I wasn't prepared to be absolutely demolished by some green laser firing robots. What are they guarding exactly? Is it worth it?

As others have stated, it’s a crashed vertibird with a unique weapon near it. The weapon is pretty meh in terms of performance, though it at least looks kinda cool

Aside from that, the robots respawn if you go away from the location and wait 48 hours, so it can be a decent spot for farming experience

Only other thing is that Arcade Gannon (a companion who’s at the Old Mormon Fort in Freeside) has some dialogue about it if you bring him near it, which also is part of how you can start his quest line

From the sounds of it you found the vertibird Crash site, there you will find the tesla-beaton prototype which is a unique tesla cannon, im guessing the robots were called "hardened sentry bot" etc, right?

They looked exactly the same as RobCo bots but with a LOT more gear

i suggest not going there its jsut a waste of ammo and only go there if you are desperate for some random robotic loot

This spot can be used to farm for some of the GRA challenges, didn't know about the re-spawns though.
