the quest tied to the water pump (even if it never actually says this) is High Times given by Julie Farkas
btw I noticed the King is a nice person with good manners. I wish i didn't kill 3 Kings members by the main entrance, just because they pushed me around a bit. And another one just inside by the door. He responded my attack i guess. But the rest of the King members seems unaware. Well.. They look like some highschool gang :) Harmless i guess. I'll leave them alone.
Is there anything else i can do for these people, in freeside?
Outside of the NCR main quest, yes there is. There's two quests that involve you helping out the people of Freeside. The first is called "High TImes"; you get it from Dr. Julie Farkas at the Old Mormon Fort, and it involves helping two addicts, one of them an alcoholic and the other a junkie, get clean. The second quest, "G.I Blues", has you helping the Kings drive out a guy who was running a protection scheme, followed by you helping the King investigate stories of attacks on Freeside residents by NCR soldiers. Both those quests have peaceful methods of resolving them, and peacefully resolving "G.I Blues" even gives you way to reach a peaceful resolution in a NCR main quest later on.
But then i realized the problem wasn't the Kings but just a guy named Pacer. The same guy who charged me for talking to King himself (I didn't like the guy even at the first look, i usually am good at reading people :) And it turned out to be he is the one who was creating problems, he almost killed some NCR messengers who Major Kiaran sent to them, and King didn't even know about them..
NCR ambassador wanted me to deal with that Pacer guy, simply killing him would have seen as a hostility between them and NCR and i found another way. But Pacer didn't sit tight and attacked some NCR outpost and almost got himself killed (some king members died though) I informed their leader and made a deal.
Peace at last. Now NCR and Kings are good, co-operating on Freeside.
I feel better now :)
Yes Man is one of the worst endings for anyone outside of Vegas, that includes freeside. You kick out both the NCR and the Legion then also peace out yourself while Yes Man starts his windows update. While he is down and you're gone everything goes to ♥♥♥♥.
On the topic, I don't really see a problem with it. The Kings effectively do their best to keep freeside safe, and all they want in return is a water tax? That sounds fine.
Yeah, Pacer's stupid like that. He genuinely wants to keep the people of Freeside safe, but he's got a gigantic chip on his shoulder towards anyone not from Freeside, and that leads him to scheme against them. That, in turn, makes things even worse for Freeside. He even keeps knowledge of what he's doing from the King, even though he's the King's lieutenant and the two are supposed to be best friends since childhood.
They can get a good ending in House playthroughs if you complete GI Blues without telling The King about the peace envoys NCR sent to him. During Hoover Dam they strike out against NCR troops stationed in Freeside, so House lets them keep control of Freeside as a reward for their assistance.
I upgraded securitrons and kicked both ncr and legion out of the region but i was told that crime and wounded, junkie people increased after ending. why didnt robots maintain order?
Rather than House just saying ♥♥♥♥ you to everyone not in Vegas.
