Going in at level 30 was probably a mistake since the enemies get stupidly tanky at higher levels, going in between levels 15 and 20 is the sweet spot where you're strong enough to beat it but not so high level that the enemies become stupidly tanky.
If in trouble, run out of bounds for a free escape back to home base.
Complete the final stealth test repeatedly for Stealth Boys.
Robotics Expert: 25% bonus damage is helpful, but deactivating is fun and the most efficient.
Any and all the relevant perks to incease base DAM, chance-to-crit, and critical base DAM.
Christine's CoS: Has a x2.5 crit multiplier. One of my characters gets 100% CtC on every shot. Cripple, destroy weapons, aim for heads/tails.
X-2 Antennae vs. robotic units. Even if not using melee as a primary build choice. Just spam attaks outside of VATS.
LAER or E's LAER: Use in free-aim mode and shoot as fast as possible with MC ammo against robotic units.
Sonic Emiiter: Just use it to conserve durability and ammo for LAERs. Use Bulk ammo when opening force fields. Abuse the juke-box by swapping mods to get free repairs.
Chems and Alcohol: There is an auto-doc at home base, so even without a chem based build, abuse them.
Mines and Grenades: Satchel Charges, Pulse, and Plasma. Back to the old tricks of setting traps and luring in enemies. Beware that enemies may also de-spawn if PC retreats too far.
Paralyzing Palm: Stun then kill with some other method.
Keep the heavier armors on standby. Instead: Use a light Armor build with Tunnel Runner. Enemies detect so well, avoid the penalties of heavy armor and move faster to get in and out. If not, then use the new Stealth Suit Mk II with the M-5 implant to boost speed instead.
edit/add - I forgot, if Lonesome Road is done first, get the solo buff from abandoning ED-E. It is one reason of many, why I do LR first. However, each dlc has its own advantages for being done before others.
----------If you bring them, instead of going in naked----------------
I guess you left them at home, but:
Paciencia: HIgh crit build and HP ammo. Only if buffed Chance-to-crit is 86% (base 38%), or close to it. Otherwise, only use it in sneak attacks, then swap to something else.
The AMR, that you screencaptured recently, with explosive shells. Waddle into DLC with more explosive shells than seems sane.
Compliance Regulator from Honest Heats: Stun, then kill with something else.
edit/add, see above
or maybe mind controlling and evading enemies undetected or making them fighting eachother.. calling down orbital nukes or something
from the very start i survived here by drinking irradiated water, eating human flesh.. lived like a bug for the most of the time.. but i survived and got good at my gear and my base.
thought the game would be easier after everything i've done and i could finish it easily... but then i realized this world is much bigger than i thought, and even with good gears and skill it will take too much time to visit all places and clear them out.. i understand main quest is mostly complete from your messages.. but there are a lot to discover.. i really liked how they connected sierra madre and here. i listened holotypes.. found related stuffs.. and i liked it..
there are probably many other stories lying beneath this place.. but it is taking too long to progress from one place to another.. even they spawn around the sink everyday.. i use my ammo just to walk outside.. then i go back to do repairs and resupplies..
So there is nothing i missed, like a story based consept that will make everything easier.. so i think i will complete main quest and leave this place.. and everything behind..
Food on the other hand, I guess just farm the K-9 and Night Stalkers within the one test run. Thanks for bringing this up, I'll have to plan ahead for my new character.
As for those constant spawns outside the door. What I did was fast travel back and forth from the balcony to safe locations, then move to the dangerous ones.
Question: Did you collect all the good loot though, like Christine's CoS Sniper Rifle, Stealth Suit MkII, LAER, etc? If not, get those before you leave. Oh, also don't forget the scientists' outfits and glasses.
found a hazmat suit but it was behind a force field.. it said it needed a security cod.. (wait.. i have sonic upgrade, i can remove force fields.. dam i forgot that :D, i'll go and get it now)
I'm currently using elijah's adv. laer. it kills everything easily. i had tried laer before and it wasnt that useful, but this one is different, i didnt even install its upgrades. only thing is it degrades too quickly. but i have many weapon repair kits.
as for food production; i planted all pots and converting them into green thing, and make 37 maize, which gives most of -food and some -water. I recently found water upgrade so i can fill bottles. I was ignoring thirst when i'm on missions. and were drinking at home.
with adv. laer this is more playable now, with more playable i mean i lose lesser time while exploring areas.. on enemies. maybe i can explore a bit more before completing this dlc.. but i gained too much level, 32 now. DLC added +5 level cap, i don't wanna maximize my character here.
Good to know about the corn, thx, that will help me.
Good to hear about the sink getting activated too.

Like I ever stop talking, just ask my wife.... More:
Yes, you really want that Hazmat Hood. I use it a lot. I even double stack the effect with Ghost Sight or Cat's Eye.
That Sniper Rifle is too valuable to leave. It gets to where I use it 90% of the time, even though I own all the guns on one character.
The Mk2 is a stealth suit. Be stealthy and the auto injections don't matter. Or, heal yourself so she doesn't. The biggest benefit is the movement speed.
Also, beware there are penalties to sneaking in heavier armors, like per lb., so I find that Sneak works better naked or in clothes, not in MK2 and especially not in the Chinese Stealth Armor. However, I think the CSA is bugged somehow, since I can sneak in Gomorrah with a Stealth Boy, at level 4-6, to steal the weapon shipments, but if I wear the suit, they catch me.
The E's LAER is faster shooting but even more fragile. Use the upgrades to make them more durable. I still carry two and trade off.
Yeah, my other character that has a lot of hours maxed out just in DLCs. It happened so fast. I forget what level I started, maybe 30(?), then bam, 50.
I have everthing here, as home. My plants grow and producing food, i have clean water, i have an Autodoc which can do any operation i need, ICU trading AI, workbench & reloading bench, and Muggy :D they turn every unuseful items into raw meterials..
And i have other home after Sierra Madre, it was cool but this is the Coolest :D I still can visit my BoS bunker and collect accumulated Sierra Madre Chips, and buy Weapon Repair Kits, Doctor bags, Radaways and Stimpaks while on site.
Dam.. I became too powerful. I think I will star Lonesome Road tonight..
But now, it is time to party!!! :D :D
I will sleep here.. hmm gollldies.. smell lovely :P
I better put them here, so I wouldn't hit my head while sleeping..
ehehe.. I've decided to stick around abit longer. Clearing all areas in daytimes. 1/3 is about to complete. found a hideout of elijah.. and his tesla gun ;)
having long haul perk is quite useful, collecting literally everthing.. even tin cans ;P ;P
place is peaceful, just a few lobotomites time to time. and i completed some challenges and got perks against cazadors (3) and nightstalkers..
I understood the story better now, found more notes.. listened more holotypes..
I finished the DLC in two days, it's not very hard but some ennemies are bullet-spongey
Checked all places and cleared them but.. as i was told, main quest was %90 of the old world blues. Just found a few unique items more, that's all.
But satisfied my curiosity. Learned some details about christine and elijah..
But yeah, main quest is not that long.
I have not tried the Long Haul yet. It would be convenient. As a workaround, I use OWB's Transportalponder when over loaded.
