Use a vector weapon, not something like a shotgun. Scoped ones are better but i didn't have one on me but this GRA pistol are shooting 5.56 rifle bullets..

I didn't fully understand how to make your own ammo..

I usually have leads and cases in inventory but powder? should i breakdown other ammos to get powder and primer?

I only keep empty energy cells, since i can recharge them with no extra item..

Hand Loader probably won't help much vs. DTs, since the Match load only gives less spread and x1.15 damage on the 5.56mm.

One of the biggest pros of That Gun: The only handgun with access to AP, without making some alternative with the perk.

Usually lots of ammo at these vendors. Some like GKs have 1:1 ratio, so no loss on transactions, even without discounts others require. For various reasons, GK and dam can be the best locations.

Break down unwanted ammo for supplies. Merchants, like Gun Runners sell supplies. Go to OWB, use the automated vendor and buy the reloading packs. Take all this to a reloading bench. Custom loads require the Hand Loader perk.

But does it have explosive ammo? Does it looks cool as hell? Style factor and mag size are better with the AM rifle, plus you don't have to make a build around crits just to use it properly

Also keep in mind that even tho it doesn't have a scope, it has a 3.5x magnification when looking down the iron sights

Lighter, can be used with less skill, ammo is lighter, ammo is common, has the same zoom, interactive reticle is helpful at times, NO scope wobble. It is a fantastic gun. I carry both though. AMR (suppressed) is for when i need an explosive shell, that's all I use to for, since the Paciencia outperforms it. Christine's COS when I need a 100% chance to crit, so I avoid possible flubs with Paciencia's 86-91%.

add- forgot, it fires faster too. More deaths with all single shots

i use the AMR as a main weapon, ammo is pretty easy to get as long as you have ok reputation with the NCR, it's kinda pricy but then again so is pacencia to buy, i'd rather have a powerful rifle that doesn't crit to do damage rather than an upgraded hunting rifle

Now I will admit the AM rifle can be quite powerful and even one shot various enemies. BUT! It weights quite a lot and fires and reloads very slowly, even with the carbon fiber parts (unless you couple it with the Heavyweight perk) and custom bolt modifications for the GRA variant. Also the silencer doesn't truly make it truly silent unlike other weapons, it reduces noise which means you can still be located if your not careful.

Paciencia on the other hand:

Looks less makeshift than other hunting rifles
It has a Mexican flag tied to the stock as a nod to its Spanish name
Fires and reloads way faster than the AM rifle
Can snipe without a scope, thus not giving you tunnel vision when aiming
It's crit damage is the same as the AM rifle, coupled with the firing speed it makes it really versatile.
And even tho it can't be silent, I can one shot deathclaws with a sneak attack on paciencia

Literally the only disadvantage of Paciencia is it's 3 round magazine, but even then it's reload speed more than makes up for it.

Edit: I forgot to mention the price tag as it's other disadvantage, but if your like me, you go to Nellis AFB to steal combat armor to use it for purchasing Paciencia

yeah that initial price tag is a pain. I wish the AMR could use HP ammo, then mine would get more use..

It becomes another instance where low-crit builds go AMR, high-crit goes Paciencia and Christine's COS (x2.5 is valuable in this game).

Rushing Water!
Time VATS use, so last action is a reload, then fire in free-aim, go back in VATS to finish with reload, wash, rinse, repeat. RW will also make it fire quite fast; combine RW with high Agility, Rapid Reload, Fast Shot.

Grim Reaper's Sprint:
This trick works better with Christine's COS, but: VATS for only 1 kill per VATS session. Shoot 35, gain 20 AP each time. Nerves of Steel (or Rebound) improves the performance.

The Paciencia is the best item in game to spot enemies and MINES, due to zoom and no scope.

Hell yeah rushing water!

It does ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with automatic weapons, but it makes semi-auto and bolt actions better, and it breaks certain melee & unarmed weapons (Gotta love the katana with the balanced grip mod)

I just wish Rushing Water wasn't so heavy, even with Packrat I carry so many supplies.

Crud, which reminds me. I don't mind the weight of modified AMR (GRA) that was mentioned, even though I couldn't get Heavyweight on this character build, but the ammo weight on my next game will be insane.
