Why is the Courier always portrayed as an NCR ranger?

This is just a curious question. All fanarts and artworks I found portray the Courier as an NCR ranger. Why is that? Is there some sort of cannon to the Fallout series?

They do (no denying that), but I've never seen a fanart of the Courier in any other armour, so it got me thinking.

Because it's the coolest outfit in the game and many artist agreed with that.

because the Veteran Ranger armor looks cool as ♥♥♥♥, It's so cool in fact that this is the only game in the series to not have a power armor wearing guy in it's cover art.

Because there's an NCR Ranger on the game cover so clearly that must be The Courier and "DAE NCR Ranger Armour look cool?"

Seen a few people over on reddit act as if it is, probably because "it's the sole character on the game cover, must be the protagonist". They're few and far between but they crop up from time to time, tbh though it's probably the other way around where it's people constantly portraying The Courier in NCR Ranger Armour that leads these people to believe the cover Ranger must be The Courier rather than the other way around like I framed it in my initial comment.

Yup. These were the reasons why I asked about some sort of an official cannon where maybe the Courier was with NCR. But so far it seems people just consider it a cool look - which I can't argue with.

Now if those ending slides would reflect the player's Courier.
My male Courier would be wearing Ulysses outfit.
And my female Courier Vera's outfit.

Unless I'm doing a power armour run, then it's the T-51B power armour XD

Personally it just makes sense to me. For better or for worse the courier is sort of an OG desert ranger, a survivor of the wastes that is a force to be reakoned with, so it just makes sense that they would wear ranger armor.
