Mouse sensitivity still feels too high in the menus.
If I remember correctly, about a month or two ago, I went online looking for help with high mouse acceleration in the menus. The answer was a quick copy-paste of some lines of text into the FNV folder. Well, for my birthday, I got a new monitor that's larger than my old one and now the mouse sensitivity feels higher than it used to be, even with the copy-paste solution in effect. Any help?

No mouse adjustment in the games settings? It should have that.

There ARE settings that alter the mouse sensitivity, but it only effects gameplay, not the menus.

I highly recommend the Fallout New Vegas configuration menu

https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/40442

it allows you to edit all INI files as well as disable the mouse smoothing easily.

Are you talking about just the game menu, or stuff like the PipBoy?

All of them, really. The Pip-Boy, the inventory screen, the pause menu, you name it.

I don't want to register an account with Nexus.

The reason I don't want to sign up for Nexus is that I still live with my parents and I'm not quite sure if they'll let me have an account. They were hesitant at first to allow me to have a Steam account, but as you can tell, they changed their minds.

I mean if they are trying to prevent you access to mature content or something I can understand, Nexus has a feature to not allow any NSFW content to show up. and you can disable emails and notifications. not that im trying to get you to break the rules or anything but yeah.

if you really want to fix the issue without the use of mods you can do it manually like this

* Locate your game's files.

* By default, these are located at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\fallout new vegas"

* Open the file "fallout_default.ini"

* Find the line "bBackground Mouse = 0" and change the "0" value to "1"

* Underneath the line "bBackground Keyboard = 1", add the following lines:
fForegroundMouceAccelBase=0
fForegroundMouseAccelTop=0
fForegroundMouseBase=0
fForegroundMouseMult=0

* Locate the line "iPresentInterval=1" and change the "1" value to "0"

* Select File > Save and close the file after saving.

After completing these changes to your .ini file, you should be able to run the game normally. If you find this hasn't worked, you should locate the fallout_default.ini file and delete it. Running the game will create a new file so that you can attempt the changes once more.

My parents are careful about certain things online, so they don't allow me to just give random sites my email willy-nilly. First I'll have to explain Nexus to them, then I'll have to explain that mods won't give me viruses; then there's the actual registration part where I'll have to meet that stupid CAPTCHA (Which, by the way, is the worst human creation since the atomic bomb) and I'm just to lazy to go through the hassle, really.

Speaking of which, I'll definitely check out your workaround, thanks!
