If I modify the load order of Mods in FOMM, do I need to launch the game from FOMM?
Now, normally when playing a game like Skyrim, I can easily change the load order of all of my mods. In New Vegas, I need to install a mod manager(FOMM or Fallout Mod Manager). Once I did so, I went back to New Vegas by launching it normally through steam (As in, not launching it through FOMM), but when I went to "Data Files," the load order was unedited. So does that mean that I did something wrong or did it automatically edit the load order without it changing it in Data Files?

To answer the question, no, you don't need to launch your game with FOMM. The order of plugins is saved and loaded from the game elsewhere.

Don't use FOMM, it's ancient outdated trash.

Use Mod Organiser 2[www.nexusmods.com] (which you will need to launch the game from for your mods to even register) as it gives you excellent control over things such as your load order and is just overall better in every regard (and has a 0 percent chance of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up your game to the point of needing to reinstall as it doesn't touch the games data folder).

Well the thing about launching the game from the mod manager is that it doesn't. I get a steam error with Fallout Mod Manager. Would the same thing happen with Mod Organizer 2?

Worked fine for me with Both Skyrims, New Vegas, and Fallout 4, and never heard of it refusing to do so from anyone else. So I don't see any reason why it would be any different for you.

And you're talking about Mod Organizer 2? You've never used FOMM?

Yeah talking about MO2, haven't used FOMM in years since I first played the game as better mod managers have come out since with the current best being MO2.

Alright. I'll try out Mod Organizer 2 and I'll let you know how it works out. Just one more question:When setting it up and choosing the directory for the game, do I direct it to the Data folder or just the game folder?

After the thing installed (Eventually), I got an error saying that something is corrupted. ModOrganizer.exe Application error and this error message. I have no clue what's wrong here.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
