Do you think Ulysses was written well?

Personally I think he's one of the most pretentious characters in the game and honestly stains how well written other major characters in the base game and other dlc are.

I do like his final message about how men must change and if not nuclear war will happen again but other than that, what a mess.

I also think he brings down Lonesome Road, which would be my 2nd or even favorite dlc for NV if he wasn't in it.

I feel like the writers just decided to use a cut companion and try to mesh it another planned character and the result became Ulysses.

I stand by my original opinion. Ulysses is an overrated character.

The only way to win the DLC is to not play it, which is bs.

I like the voice actor's voice and delivery, but the script is pretentious, long-winded, and I regularly skip huge parts of it whenever I can.

I like the character's design, but when it comes to receiving that duster and putting it on my character, I wish it had sleeves because it looks dumb when I wear it.

The main reason I even do the DLC is to access the commisary and to get the Riot Armor for my companions.

I don't really have much more of an opinion without judging the DLC itself.

Not particularly, but he's voiced well, and voice directed well.

I think he's written well in the context of his own character.

I just don't think he's an interesting character and his motives are flimsy self indulgent gibberish.

You can safely play the DLC, up until you need to fire the ICBM to get further in.
That will get you 2 ED-E upgrades, one industrial hand and the advanced riot armour.
Not too bad loot to have ^^
