Fallout: New Vegas issues after deleting Freeside Open -mod.
Finally got FNV working again with mods. Funny thing was that I had to verify game file integrity every time I booted my PC but there were no crashes at all while playing.
But then I got to freeside and all sorts of problems started to show up (like Atomic Wrangler was totally bugged, sounds were off and game crashed when exiting.)
So I deleted the Freeside Open -mod. Thought it could corrupt my save files but now the game won't even start, crashing on launch after the error message about missing masters. Please help.

My mods (using Vortex, thought it would sort them into right order automatically):
-Interior lighting overhaul 6.9
-The mod configuration Menu 1.5
-NMCs textures NV Large 1.0
-ZAN AutoPurge Crash Protector 1.2
-YUP patch 12.0
-Realistic Wasteland lighting 5.542
-New Vegas Anticrash
-Fallout Character Overhaul 3.0
-HD fire and explosions 1.0
-UIO - User Interface Organizer 2.09
-JIP LN NVSE plugin 55.67
-OneTweak
-JSawyer Ultimate Edition 5.1.6
-New Vegas Tick Fix 8.3.1
-JohnnyGuitar NVSE 3.25
-Unofficial Patch NVSE plus 1.2.6
-And of course NVSE (latest) and New Vegas 4gb.

Do I have to start from scrap..? I'd like to delete all mods and re-install the game but I can't even delete all the mods via Vortex.. :O

Both Freeside open and Strip open mods are well known to have cause multiple issues with the game. I would advice you to reinstall the mod, reload a save before you reach freeside, save, delete the mod, and then go from there. If you still crash however, I found a mod that may or may not help you:
https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/59514
If all hope is lost just delete the mod and start a new game. Such is the ways of modding a 10 year old game.
I never used Vortex for 'reasons'. Freeside Open is a waaay big mod that would make most consoles burst into flames. I've used it in the past on an archaic PC. Gonna try it again soon Daddy-O. :D
o.k, just read the last cat's link. It's gone baby, It's gone. :(

I actually tried that just now, re-installed the mod and installed that exact mod. The Error message and crash on start-up won't go away anymore.. :D

I've been trying to get this game working for a long time, it's like a summer car project. I'm actually now thinking I'd install the game to my other computer and start from scratch. Would you guys have (a link to) a mod list so the game would actually work? I only want the essentials to make the game work and look a bit better, and some nice fire / explosion / blood effects. No need for anything fancier / risky. Just wanna play now.

sure have! I recommend this mod guide to everyone that is new to modding fallout new vegas. It's called Viva New Vegas:
https://vivanewvegas.github.io/
the mods on the guide are close to what you have and the guide is very moddable, in other words after you install the mods in the guide you can add your own, provided you read the list of mods you SHOULDN'T use.

Wondering if I install pretty much the same mods that I had could I maybe just continue from my latest save before Freeside.. I know it's risky, might not work, but if it loads, could I encounter problems later on because of this..? I was only lvl 7 but still re-playing the start would cost me a couple of days..

you shouldn't encounter any problems down the line if the game loads at all that is. cant tell you more given that I dont use that mod myself, and the only time I did, it corrupted my save and I had to purge everything.
