Does thump thump have a higher range?
Does the unique grenade riffle thump thump have like longer ranger compared to the common counterpart? the wiki isnt super clear on it, since its not exactly a stat thats listed as far as ik.

I've checked in the GECK, and Thump-Thump's projectile have twice the speed of the common grenade rifle's projectile. From what I've read, the speed stat is what determines how far the projectile travels, and it corresponds with the 100% increase in projectile speed that the long barrel modification offers on the common variant.

It should've been quite obvious ingame... :\

i haven't yet gotten to it, so i asked to see if it was worth pursuing over upgrading to a grenade launcher.
You really wanna use an M79 grenade launcher (known in game as the grenade rifle), use the Great Bear Grenade rifle. It’s the best one IMO.

But if you want good weapons that use 40mm grenades, the China lake grenade launcher (known in game as just the grenade launcher) and mercy are your best bets.

I think you're mistaking meme with trigger...
You get triggered by people calling weapons by their real life equivalent.

Well considering the fact that they are all grenade launchers (regardless of one being called a rifle), I try to distinguish them by calling them by their real life equivalents to prevent confusion.

Do you think the automatic pistol .45 M1911A1 new agent is a better stealth weapon than the N99AZ-S?

All those unfunny and quiet kids in school who have too much time enough to basically live inside the internet forum like to be excessively informative about the stuff they like.

Reminds me of that video where the kid's saying "You're disrespecting a future marine."

Yeah, the launching tube is a smooth bore because it's similar to a cannon or a musket, it's a shotgun, it just lobs a heavy weight. Also you can load it with shot shells usually known as beehive rounds because they fire so many pellets it's like and looks like a swarm of bees. With that designation people should know you mean a shot shell for the grenade launcher or cannon, not a conventional shotgun shot shell.

When they refer to something as a rifle they do so because that's the most important feature as well as it's intended purpose, the barrel is long and rifled. Meaning it fires bullets rather than slugs, it's key feature is RANGE. Bullet means aerodynamic and fast, slug means, heavy and slow. A 40mm grenade is a slug, they just soar their way to the target like a football, maybe even a little slower than an NFL quarterback throws a football. :) 40mm grenades don't need to be explosive either, just like cannon balls you could use solid ball to smash a target if for whatever reason you don't want the explosion and collateral fragmentation or concussive blast that would come with an explosive.

I like loading my China Lake (tm) (40x46mm smoothbore grenade launcher) legendary cannon musket with the M1060 TMB shells, available only from select Great Khans (R) and Gun Runners (C) vendors.

It sounds so bombastic, I'm bedazzled. Maybe they should rename it to ... THE BEDAZZLER! That's what it could be known as on the streets!

As someone who knows nothing about anything weapon related, weapons in NV are based on real life weapons but are not exact copies. So saying the grenade rifle is an m79 or whatever isn't really correct. It's like saying the light machine gun is an m60.

I understand what you said about the Light Machine Gun since it's designed is influenced by, but not directly copied from the M60 as well as some elements from the M249 saw. What I don't understand is what you just said about the grenade rifle not being an M76... look at the wiki article of the grenade rifle, and look at the wikipedia article of the M76 grenade launcher, they are exactly the same, it wouldn't surprise me if you'd found some differences/oversights in the design though, since the grenade launcher is based on the china lake yet has a misaligned receiver and stock.
