Antivenin¹ & Doctor's Bags Don't Work—What am I doing wrong?
I got stung a few times by a giant radscorpion (it's been "a minute" since I played New Vegas, so I forget) and the antivenin (¹That's the way literate people spell it, among them doctors, nurses, and the guys selling it at survival shops IRL, et cetera) and doctor's bags aren't working. I use the antivenin and the UI says it's being used, but the health bar stays the same, no improvement whatsoever. I used one doctor's bag, and the UI says it was used, but again, the health bar is unchanged (there is the tell-tale sound of a beating heart signifying that I am close to death), and when I tried using another doctor's bag, it says I am at full health. That is BULLCRAP; I am NOT at full health.

Okay, lemmee have it: What am I doing wrong? What am I forgetting?

"Antivenin" only removes poisoning, while doctor bags fully heal all limbs but don't touch your health. Use stimpacks, eat or drink. Personally i take all sunset sarsaparillas i can find as it is one of the most common and strong healing items.

Thanks. I knew I was forgetting something important yet simple!

I'm too used to Fallout 4. Gotta get the hang of this again.

Hold on what does Du-vu's answer clarify that mine doesn't?

Think we posted at almost the same time and yours was on moderator hold for a minute, that's all. You've got the better answer, Sunset Sarsaparilla is everywhere and they give you star caps if you're collecting those.

yeah I pick up the sunset sasparilla and drink it and it heals me and gets me caps sure.

Survival skill cooking steaks is pretty easy to get heals. Coyote steaks, Gecko steaks, big horner steaks.

Desert salad is a big heal. Healing poultice after doing lonesome road is my default heal. puts my limbs back together and everything.

Sorry. Didn't mean to rob you of credit; it was purely unintentional.
