Finally found a fix for the problem with NCR attacking. All credit goes to Grimw0lf here http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/rpg/falloutnewvegas/show_msgs.php?topic_id=m-1-56959609&pid=959557 !! Everytime I got close to a Ranger, NCR officer, Ringo in Goodsprings, NCR MPs, and several others, they attacked. Legion members talked to me and acted like friends( rep said they vilified me!) Anyway...fix by removing armor, then equip legion armor. Now UNEQUIP the legion armor before re-equipping NCR(or other) armor. Apparently you must UNEQUIP a faction's armor to actually remove it. Now I have no more issues with random attacks from NCR. Even while not wearing NCR armor. Hope this helps others as well and THANX Grimw0lf!!! I love this game again!!
it worked btw (edit) this game is a lil funky sometimes
