Alternatively, did you turn the Van Graffs hostile in the process of looting the safe? I believe that automatically locks you out from the peaceful resolution.
Still the safe at the silver rush contains no questitem at all even though nobody turned hostile.
I entered the silver rush the very first time.. watched the execution show of jean baptiste then engaged a stealth boy, picklock the first door, picklocked the safe behind it.. and got some caps, a weapon mod.. and thats it..
I just killed them all now going the violent way. But sad that a bug forces me to go the evil way.
But what really bothers me is that nobody else ever seemed to have experience this problem.. as i did not found a single result on google about this specific circumstance. All i found where people complaining about how difficult the door and the safe are to lockpick for a compainion quest. *shrugs*
it's not a bug as far as i've read.
i think you gotta unlock the terminal and if not you gotta go in sequence from place to place. Skipping may mess up the flow of the quest.
