I'm not some keyboard elitist, but trust me New Vegas is a lot better with mouse/keyboard. This game is very clunky and no amount of mods can turn it into Fallout 4 or a decent FPS.
New Vegas seems designed for that.
Was really hoping there would be a mod to fix this, guess that was a foolish thought. Makes sense that this kind of thing would be "hard coded."
That said I think I understand what your trying to say, the good part of the game isnt about the shooting, which I agree with. Thanks for the tips though!
Interesting, in that the vast majority of my characters never use melee, and only rarely use explosives. But any weapon style is viable, depending on your character.
Nope, that's just wrong. The only time I go to melee is to add variety to my game, not because I need to. I'll admit that sometimes a Deathclaw just needs a nuke. Shooting works just fine in this game, certainly as well as melee.
VATS alternative - bullet time
You might also want something to remove autoaim, because often it's more a liability than help, but I don't know if it's good idea when playing with controller.
Finally, there are mods rebalancing weapons and enemies, but I never found one that would satisfy my needs for balance, so I ended up making my own.
