Private Edwards speech check

i am on the all in this together quest line, and the speech line to tell first Sargent Astor how Private Edwards is not feral does not come up any ideas why?

I just finished the same quest not long ago and had the same problem. It's a bug, I looked it up on the wiki. It might have some tips for you, on how to get past this bug. I was forced to just send Private Edwards into the wasteland, because it gave me no other option.

There's a special "sequence" you have to go through the dialogue options to get this quest to work. Out of several playthroughs, I've only been able to get the option for him to join Astor's squad once. And really, I can't think of what I did differently to get the option. Usually getting the option to send him to Echo isn't that hard once the dialogue "sequence" is known. Here's how I do it:

- Take the quest, kill all the feral soldiers, collect their tags.
- Make a separate/backup save before entering his house incase things get anymore buggy.
- After running through the dialogue paths the page says to use, I forget which one it is, but ask him why he's still there, and something like is that all he's afraid of, then he'll say something about radscorpions. Tell him there maybe some still out there/you'll take care of them.
- Go kill the radscorpions (I believe there are 3 giant ones).
- After killing them, don't go back inside, instead go talk to Astor about Edwards. I don't think there's any special sequence to follow, just have to tell him he's not feral and there's got to be some place he can go. Astor should mention Echo after that.
- Go back to Edwards, do whichever dialogue path to get him to hand over his dogtag. Then tell him about Ranger Station Echo.
- Now go turn in all 10 dogtags.

I've read on some forums that turning in any dogtags before dealing with Edwards will glitch the quest, so I always just wait until everything is taken care before turning in any tags.
