Arcade Gannon
Hello. So i completed Arcade Gannon's quest "For Auld Lang Syne" and chose the option "You have to fight on Hoover Dam" for Arcade in the final. Then, i discovered that this option is kinda "bad" for Arcade (if you tell him to fight on Hoover Dam, he will be banished from his faction and then leave Freeside being chased by mercenaries etc.). How can i change this with my console?Unfortunately, i saved the game right after i told Arcade to get ready for the fight and he left me as a companion. I want Arcade to be a teacher in Freeside after the game ending. Is there a solution?

He'll be banished from Freeside? Where'd you hear that?
I don't know of a console command for this, but it can't be too hard to go back to a previous save.

You can check Fallout Wikia to confirm that. He will be banished from his faction when they discover that he was a member of the Enclave.

Oh, saves... Actually, i don't have any saves that could help me to solute that problem.

So you're doing an NCR ending? okey
Can't help you much. Someone else may be able to. Or you could try to find the answer yourself.

Thanks anyway.

Arcade has zero good endings. It's typical of idealists.

There are two NCR endings for Arcade: 1) (if the Courier makes Arcade fight) He leaves his faction and mercs (etc) are after him 2) (if the Courier makes Arcade come back to Freeside) He becomes a teacher in Freeside. Isn't the second option better for him? :^)

No, because that's not what he wanted at all. That's a mediocre life, according to him.

Got it, thank you so much.

He does try to make the best of his situation in his better endings, so I say there are good endings for Arcade.

A bitter sweet 'life of mediocrity' isn't the same as a 'good' ending. He was purposefully written to be an idealist in a world that crushes such people, and the fact that has no happy endings is intentional.

I feel like a lot of whether the endings are good or bad are up to interpretation. Being an Enclave convict on the run from the authorities can be awesome depending on how you look at it.

The best you can get for him is a bittersweet life of helping people, but not how/as much as he'd like to. I think in general the companions with relatively decent lives before you meet them end up miserable afterwards, and the ones who are already as low as they can get are the ones whose lives improve post-game.

Fella, FONV is about freedom and nonlinear storytelling. They didn't create an idealist character just to crush him and validate some teenage edgelords. Besides, Arcade does have good endings, they just have to be with an independent vegas, like he actually says they would be.

Fella, it's been 6 years. Was this asinine comment worth the necro?

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
