I can say that every new play through, old world blues is the one dlc that usually gets me uninterested and to stop playing for awhile. Damage sponges and random spawns every 5 seconds is pretty annoying.
Alot of the enemies have armor. I had a sniper rifle but that quickly ran out. Energy weapons are the way to go. Night stalkers hit hard. I think Im close to finishing it
For my money I could have done without the overblown dialogue stuff when you first arrive...
I like the free range exploring aspect - despite what the head sci-brain wants (yah, call me a rebel) Once into this DLC proper I found it a great deal of fun approaching the "maze quests" and the stealth work - a far cry from the pitched battles in NV in general.
I carried my anti material rifle through with me and had a companion sniper in tow as well - hand load and AP 50 shells dealt with everything quite nicely and a 12mm sub machine gun for close encounters.
Still a little difficult in a nest of robo-scorpions, took some injury but all in all a fun time was had by all.
Well, except maybe Moebius... LOL
Cheers,
T
If at times it became something of a slog through hordes of bullet-sponges, it was my own fault for vastly underestimating how much ammo i should bring. Without ED-E (my flyin', shootin' ammo-box), and failing to account for how much damage enemies would absorb, I was very quickly out of ammunition for my favored weapons. Nowhere in BigMT could i find bullets for my anti-materiel sniper, riot-shot or 12.7 smg, so was forced to cope with the dinky 9- and 10mms found as loot (cause 0 ew skill). It wasn't until i realized, as psycho mentions above, that the proton axes were incredibly useful against scorps and other robots despite my low melee skill, then it became easier.
Then when you use the satellite at midnight, you can bring ALL of it with you, no fast travel weight limitations apply. This has made OWB easier for me.
P.S. I mean on Hardcore, where ammo has weight. Otherwise it wouldn't matter.
