The other three factions have relatively similar quest lines.
Caesar's Legion is the only one that truly gives you a unique experience.
I recommend to every New Vegas player to do at least one Legion play through, solely for the experience.
Caesar's legion is like the NCR, they could care less about New Vegas.
Guess it depends on if you like living free or living under tyranny.
Living free, but with relative Anarchy (this is a common thing among all Yes Man endings, in some regard, and the idea of maintaining power is...mixed).
Living under tyranny, but with absolute safety from raiders, mutants, feral ghouls, dangerous creatures, worse organizations (they do exist), etc..
I like to emphasize that both endings are bad. One gives you rule over Vegas, for good or bad reasons, but with SO many problems. MANY. The other is extremely close to living as a literal Roman, but with complete safety from 95% of what other wastelanders worry about
I second this.
I usually go independent, though I have played a Legion character before: she was a melee/unarmed build, with explosives for range, and the whole thing was just big, stupid fun.
I mean, sure, Vegas would probably be a lot safer under the Legion (assuming that Caesar survives), but that safety would come with a hefty price tag- freedom, individuality, and any kind of autonomy would disappear.
As for independent Vegas, it would be anarchic AF... but at least you'd have your freedom.
I agree, but many often say "freedom" without realizing what they've done. Your freedom goes as far as the anarchistic groups who wish to now kill you and steal your stuff :/
NCR or House, all the way.
Even if and when he inevitably dies, it will be a long time after the events of New Vegas, when the world is a completely different place. We can't say for sure how things will turn out. We don't know if the NCR will even be a thing by the time of House's death, or how much territory he would control by that point. He can always make plans for a successor or A.I. duplicate of himself as well. The latter is even more likely, seeing that arguably crazier things have happened in the Fallout universe and that House is more than capable of developing something like that or having it be developed.
