Here's the link for the 1st video. You can skip to about 2 minutes in which is right after you installed vortex on your C: drive and opened it for the first time, and how to properly set it up so it works even if your games are on another drive. The tutorial videos are well done and will most likely solve your problem.

I don't have NVSE do i need it to run NV through vortex? I know i will probably need it to run some mods, but i haven't even reach that point if i can't even launch the game through vortex.
That honestly didn't help me as I believe i don't even need the tutorial as I'm way passed that part. i have witcher 3 afterall installed and can heavily modded it without any problems.
New vegas on the other hand won't even launch. That is my problem, not learning how install mods or use vortex. Getting vortex to even run New vegas while every other game is perfectly runnable.
For the record. Will New Vegas run with NO mods installed? That means no New California or nvse, or any other mods. Don't even activate it in Vortex. Just a fresh install of Nev Vegas, will it run when launching it via Steam?
Also the 4GB patch MUST be installed manually, not with a mod manager, or it will not properly install.
There is no point in me for installing any mods through vortex if the game itself refuses to even launch in vortex without ANY mods installed at all.
I actually said this in my OP already that it is vortex. "When i try to run New vegas THROUGH vortex i get application error code 5:0000065434" so I don't see whats not to understand. I also said that I unistalled all mods and that i moved the fallout NV install from :C to :D drive and nothing changes.
I've had tried the solution on the wiki.
Solution-1a: The "Steam Client" may be in "Offline" mode and minimized, but must remain running while launching the game, even with "nvse_launcher" or "fnv4gb".
Note that the "Steam Client" is what displays the "Library", "Store", etc. It is a separate piece of software from "the game" and performs the authentication that your copy of the game is legitimate.
Solution-1b: Sometimes all that is needed is to open the "Task Manager" (<Ctrl+Alt+Del> or right-click on the "Task Bar" | "Start Task Manager"), switch to the "Processes" tab, and right-click the "image name" Steam.exe task and select "End Process Tree". Then restart the game again.
Solution-1c: When this occurs with the "FalloutNVLauncher.exe" file after installing NVSE, some people have found that COPYing the "Steam.EXE" file (usually located in the "<install path>\Steam\" folder), into the game root folder (i.e. along with the NVSE.EXE file in "<install path>\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Fallout New Vegas"), resolves the problem.
Solution 1c is my concern so far but I don't actually have steam.EXE, i have steam.EXE OLD. So idk, I;m thinking about unistalling and reinstalling it back onto drive :C where the programX86 is located.
So all in all, IDK WTF IS GOING ON.
If you had bothered to watch just the first 2 tutorial videos they would have explained all that. They also explain how to properly set up hard link deployment, which you need when vortex is on your C drive and your games are on another drive. It's great that you have modding experience but if Vortex is new to you than watch the dam tutorials, since you don't know as much as you think you know. I'm trying to help you. Vortex is new (and different), with different features than you're used to and a different type of set up.
it's hardly comlicated dude, I said already i have witcher 3 on it. Witcher 3 has like 10 mods running through vortex.
His video wouldn't have helped me as my issue was resolve through continued reinstall and unistalled until steam actually fixed the problem for me and I still don't know what it was. Plus he never talked about the error code, he only discussed installation for people who never installed mods before. Even when i went back and perform the installation of vortex to the letter as I explain that i already did, it didn't solve any problem.
This guy helped me.

and this is the say all be all for NV mod and game help.

Dude you make it hard to help you. But I'm glad you finally got it up and running. Even if you are completely wrong about Vortex.
So just to clarify for the future.
Vortex SHOULD ALWAYS BE INSTALLED ON YOUR C DRIVE WITH YOUR OS.
Vortex ABSOLUTELY HAS THE ABILITY TO LINK TO ALL YOUR GAMES ON A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT DRIVE OR PARTITION THEREBY ENABLING HARD LINK DEPLOYMENT TO WORK PERFECTLY.
Regardless of other games, you caused your own problems and after reading the other thread and your final solution, you probably would have solved your problem had you just watched the videos and installed everything the way it is explained, instead of assuming they are for complete beginners ands disregarding it.
And you can say you watched the videos, but you obviously didn't pay attention since he explains that you should install it on your C drive (even if games are on another drive)), yet you installed it on your D drive. He also explains and shows you how to hard link to your games on other drives.
You're not quite as advanced as you like to think and don't know nearly as much as you say.
But at least you finally got it working so there's that.
