Fallout 4 script extender mods broken, what's the future?
Is anyone else irritated that the Creation Club updates to Fallout 4 negate the previous version of the Fallout script extender?

I recently modded Fallout 4 to the teeth, had a great time...but then...another Creation Club update broke the extender, and destroyed my current playthrough, due to Steam's mandatory updates. (btw, I know you can backup .exe's but Steam always forces me to update when executing)

I've since re-modded NV, and with some serious research, have fixed many issues that have plauged the game since launch, example, z-fighting with distant textures, etc. I guess that the Fallout 4 updates forced me to come back here (I've played the CRAP outta' New Vegas), but, I'm really enjoying the new mods. As such, why is Bethesda castrating the modding community with constant updates that destroy huge game changing mods?

Most of my Fallout 4 mods are now still broken because they don't work with the newest script extender update. This is super dissapointing because Fallout 4 can be pretty good with the right mods.

What do you guys think of the future of Bethesda game modding? I'm really curious as to what the FNV community has to say, as I don't know if I'll ever go back to Fallout 4 due to said updates, and as we know (and probably enjoy) Fallout New Vegas won't be updated in such a manner.

If Fallout California came out for Fallout 4 instead of New Vegas, I'd be livid to hear that a Creation Club update killed the entire mod!

What do you guys think?

Creation Club as far as I am concerned is a warning from bethesda to stop buying their products.
As you said mods are some of what makes bethesda games worth the headache, if they are going to constantly cripple modding. Then they simple don't want my business.

Go into FO4's properties.
Find the tab that governs updates.
Change the option to "Only update when I launch it"

As long as you never launch the game with the .exe but with the script extender instead while your updating preference is set to the above, Steam wont update it. Ever.

Hell, you can try deleting FO4's appmanifest from the steamapps folder so Steam wont know the game is installed anymore (but Script Extender launches the game properly, Steam will show your correct ingame status, etc). Cant update if its not there, right? :)
