Can I still join the NCR?
I have completed the quest "Wild Card" and I can now talk to yes man in the lucky 38 to go to the attack on Hoover Dam, can I switch sides? cause I just realised it's not really a nice thing to take over a whole area, and make the only thing close to a goverment that's stable leave the area, while having no idea as to how to manage ♥♥♥♥... So... can I still do that? or am I screwed? cause I've made a bunch of progress and I really don't wanna start a new game... Probably can't but eh, you never know...

Here's the kicker - *you* don't take over anything with the NCR (or House or Legion) endings. Especially with the NCR, you're used and then set aside. General Oliver will take over now, thank you very much.

You might, in some speculative 'after the game' worldbuilding, be able to trade on that victory to turn it into a Presidency of the NCR - for a few years.

Or - *OR*, hear me out.

You could rule like a king.

Why would you join the NCR?
psychotron666 Jan 23, 2019 @ 9:03am
No. You've gone past the point of no return for ncr.

Once you've failed the quest don't tread on the bear, your ncr main quest chances are over.

Yes man ending is the ending you can fall back into no matter what you do, it's the failsafe ending. If you're on the final mission for yes man, you've officially locked yourself out of every faction.

If you want, you can just meltdown the hoover dam so it basically gives both sides incentives to not try and take Vegas in the future I guess.

The NCR loses all trust in you after you fail the quest "Don't tread on the bear".

You get one warning before this quest is triggered. You get no warning for failing the quest if you pass a certain point in the storyline, eg, activating House's army, etc.

This man speaks the truth, even though I prefer House, this guy is correct.

To be honest this is such a hard choice... but... ah... I don't know... get thrown aside... or rule like a king... ah ♥♥♥♥ it I'll rule like a king... hard choice but yeah.

I wish Caesar was a smart tyrant/dictator like the actual Caesar. I really like to side with totalitarian regimes every time over any kind of democratical government on the condition that the ruler is smart about ruling.

I wish the Great Khans were still a major power. There's a Khan quest where you can give Papa Khan a book about Genghis. If he seriously followed how Genghis ruled the Horde at the time, the Great Khans will truly be great.

How is that a hard choice? You can repeat history's mistakes, listen to a somewhat good thinking old dude who is also the smartest (my choice) or to caesar but he just wants to destroy the NCR and uses the legion as basically a kamikaze...
imho best choice is yes man/mr.house, and then NCR or caesar.
