Some Advice when Modding Fallout New Vegas
Don't. Just... don't. It's not worth it. The graphics mod and new weapons look pretty but they TRICK you into trying to Mod FNV.

It's an utter nightmare, your own personal hell with the sound of bug reports, memory errors, and crashes. You tell yourself if you just get this one mod working you'll be happy but it NEVER works. You have all 3 mod systems for Fallout New Vegas, but the words "it just works" mock you from behind your screen as none of them make sense.

You jump through 16 hoops to get this one mod working but it breaks another. It's war. And war never changes. War is hell.

I give you a Mod. You disapprove. Your disapproval destroys the mod and it's components, fracturing your game into an unrecoverable safe file of hell. Everyones teeth are purple. You have dust storms for a head. You eat the Mod. Tears are in your eyes. I give you another Mod.

Anyway yea don't try modding FNV it's awful, disorganized, and the opposite of user friendly.

On the other hand I've been modding gamebryo games for over a decade and it's only gotten easier with programs like NMM and the Mod Manager.

Dude modding new vegas is alot easier than modding most games. Just download nvac, nvse, 4gb, and use fomm or mod organizer. Then download other mods you want. If one mod causes conflict with eachother get rid of one or see if there is a patch. If not, make your own using FnvEdit. It's alot simpler than you think. Many videos and turtorials are online for any thing you need help with.

I only just started modding new vegas last year and have almost 80 mods installed with no problems. Just keep an eye on conflicts, save often, and understand that no matter what new vegas will crash eventually. Mods like nvac help, but if it crashes dont go on a temper tantrum, just boot up the game again and play. takes like 20 seconds to get back into the game if you did everything correctly.

I'm using NMM, I have NVAC, NVSE, and 4GB. FOMM don't seem to actually have the mods I downloaded available. NMM has a "Mods" tab and I have them installed yet whenever I leave Doc Mitchell's House the game immediately crashes and gives the "Error: Out of Memory" message. Neither Mod Organizer or FOMM recognize whatever mods I have installed, and I don't know how to actually fix ANY of this. More often than not YouTube tutorials solve a singular problem that I don't have with an absolute ton of unnecessary filler, or the quality of the video is so bad I can't actually tell what's going on.

its pretty easy to mod with a mod manager so your probably using to many conflicting mods or doing it wrong maybe look for a tutorial.

What is your load order? Most likely you have a conflict between mods

@Literally just a Lime
I downloaded most of the mods on this list (With the exception of Interior Lighting Overhaul, Character Face overhaul, the Super Complicated lighting bit at the end, and the Flora Overhaul cause none of those like working)

Considering that the author managed to play none of them should be conflicting, and they're downloaded through NMM, meaning that installing them incorrectly wouldn't be my fault.

@DiscountLouisCK

I don't have a way of checking the Load Order, since LOOT also refuses to acknowledge most of their existence.

Oh, the person who used nmm to install the 4gb Patcher...

Its really not that bad. But if you are a beginner, then its usually not a good idea to go about installing every single mod you come across all at once.

It's best to start with a simple guide that can help you setup the framework (i.e. stuff like NVSE, 4Gb patch, NVAC, Stutter Remover, etc.). Then move onto installing a few small mods and maybe one large mod. Then test your game to see if everything is running and repeat the process. Install a few mods at a time, then test the game for a bit.

^I wouldn't use that guide as a first timer. A lot of big mods in their, so you won't realize any problems if this is your first time modding New Vegas.

Start with a simple guide.

^I just managed to find this guide and its very detailed, especially if you've never modded a Bethesda game before (Fallout NV uses Betheda's gamebryo engine).

Funny, I routinely have 300+ merged plugins running without issue. Its a matter of knowing what you're doing and being willing to put in the time to learn.

How much *RAM* does your computer have. If its not at least 6 GB then you're going to run into OOM errors - especially when using the 4GB .exe.

Just download 4 mods, 3 mod managers and remember every mod after that will probably cause fatal crashes and require custom fixes from you personally! easy!
