DLC alone or with companions?

Is it better to do the DLC on your own or have companions with you? I'm doing a sightseeing run where I see and do as much as possible so if followers will impact the exploration/first time experience I'll leave them behind and get them after the dlcs.

You can't do the DLCs with companions. It sucks, but it's also balancing.

Companions in the Mojave won't accompany you into the DLC, but the DLC each have their own companions you meet and can have tag along.

In fact, each of the DLC except Old World Blues have sections in the main quests that require you to have a companion in one form or another, as well as a lot of sections where you can bring a companion, but it isn't mandatory.

Oh, great. That solves that then lol I would have found out soon when I went to log on anyway.

I find the companions interesting but often they're also annoying and they always beat me to killing enemies so I feel like I'm walking and they're shooting haha

I'm keen to get into the DLC now
