New California crashing (Solution Found!)

I've tried a bunch of stuff and can't seem to figure out how to prevent this crash. It crashes everytime I go and enter the door in the gymnasium right after I finish the coach talk where i create my character.

The door with the '18' written on it, to the Atrium. I cannot progress no matter what.
The door is the one you have to enter during the quest to go see the security chief. A lot of people are also feeling this crash, anyone fixed it yet?

EDIT: a lot of people are mentioning paths so i figured I should mention I chose 'The Warrior'

You CANNOT use FalloutNV4GB patch in Vortex or other mod managers!
- When the mod is downloaded off ModDB or whatever, open it.
- There will be a file called 'source' and an EXE file with a little Vault Boy (called FalloutNVPatch), COPY that EXE.
- go to 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout New Vegas' and PASTE the EXE you copied in there.
- Run the EXE, A little DOS window with appear saying it's patching and then it will go 'Fallout New Vegas Patched!'
- you SHOULD be able to get past the Door! Worked for me anyway!


SIDE NOTE: Make sure you have the RIGHT FalloutNV4GB patch! theres an old one that doesn't do anything and a new one with the EXE in it.

Yeah, I'm working on that one as well. Also, when I chose Scientist, it would crash right after the choice. Tried it 3 times.

Have you installed the 4gb patch? How much memory do you have?

Yes, 4G and NVAC and nothing else besides NC and the patch. 32 G ram.

Yours might be another thing. I haven't personally encountered this cause i'm playing the warrior path but i've seen posts on nexus about crashing when picking the nerd path but the warrior is fine. i dont know any fixes for this tho. I recommend posting it on the mods site and playing on the warrior path for now.

I don't know about you but I've finished the MOD twice now.

Try turning off NVAC. You dont need it for this mod. It works fine for me, I have only seen minor gliches, mostly just clipping here and there.

Nope, can't get past the gym to the Atrium.

Anyway, I might just have to wait until I finish my TTW run on my gog version and try it on there but I'll try the nexus forum first.

Happily, installing 4GB manually worked for me as well, thanks. Also fixed the crash when choosing Scientist so I can choose that option as well.

i verified the game integrity and ran the 4g exe and now it doesnt crash going threw the atrium door

Still crashes for me. Never had any problem with New Vegas, even with a lot of mods. It crashes in the exact spot. Actually two of them, entrance to tunnel during "Blast Radius". I can even pause before this spot and sit there, look around, then move one inch and crash.

UPDATE:
Tried a lot of things. Moved to a different drive as recommended for a patch to work. Moved it back. Verified files several times, then found a few mods that needed updating. Script extender was one. Now it is working.
