South gate to the strip?

If you go outside of the strip's north gate, still in freeside, there is a dialogue from the Kings that says they watched a guy go through the south gate a few days ago and get obliterated. But as far as I know, there's only the monorail and the north gate to the strip, so what's this guy talking about?

To the south not from the south. They meant the securitron checkpoint in south Freeside.
