FNV Random Crashes
I've completely played through FNV on my old PS3, so when I got it for Steam on my new computer, I was super excited. But I keep getting these random crashes like every hour i play. I don't have any mods installed. It brings up a windows message saying they game stopped working and the only thing I can do is log out of my computer or shut it down. I can't close the game or even the message that the game stopped working. Any help so i can keep playing this amazing game without these annoying interuptions would be greatly appreciated.

I would recommend installing NVSE (New Vegas Script Extender) to download NVAC (New Vegas Anti Crash mod). Also use the Nexus Mod Manager to activate and deactivate NVAC.

Also I advice you to get the FNV 4GB Patcher. I am going to link you a guide to install NVSE by Gopher, and to Nexus Mod Manager (NMM) or FOMM (Fallout Mod Manager).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-3c1a9cLL8&t=46s (^Gopher's guide to installing NVSE^)

Link to FNV 4GB Patcher (Follow the instructions in the description)

Link to NVAC mod (Use NMM) - https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/53635/

On the Nexus website you can download their mod manager in the top right corner titled "INSTALL NMM."

This will hopefully reduce the crashing, Windows 10 has made Fallout New Vegas frustrating to run.

Could be a few things. Some of the more common solutions include:

1) If you're running Win 10, turn off compatibility mode. Also, try disabling Steam Overlay. A lot of people run the game on Win 10 just fine, but unfortunately a fair number have issues. Also, start the game using the standard launcher (not Steam) and start with the lowest graphic settings. You can change them once you get into the game and make a save/autosave.

2) Try a Clean Boot - (google: Clean Boot <your OS> for instuctions) If that works, it's likely another issue than your OS; it would be third party software/driver.

3) Some games work better if Steam is installed in the root directory. C:\Steam

Big Iron's solution seems to have worked for me! Note for future installers of those mods: there won't be a Data/NVSE/Plugins folder at first even after installing NVSE, but the NVAC mod comes with an NVSE/Plugins folder that you just need to move to Data directory.
