Marcus, Enclave Duraframe Eyebot research, the Master --Dog Meat's origins; etc.
Not about what the games do better, it's about what they do, period.
You're welcome.
It's more of the same.
Bethesda just took the same stuff from these games and put it in a 3D open world.
All Fallouts are pretty much the same.
Best Atmosphere (mainly fallout 1)
Low intelligence conversations
More of an RPG than the other games
No hand holding so it's more rewarding
Great writing/voice acting (take president richardson, myron, and the master for example)
Best easter eggs
Less limitations
So...yes, i think you should play them.
Fallout 1 was ok in 1998 but now it is a poor game with an obsolete gameplay. The fetichists of the licence can say what they want with their "canon", the story is not very good, and fallout 2 is so bugged it is unplayable without adding a lot of mods to fix some errors and add some others. Don't expect open world, spoken dialogues, 3D animations or friendly interface.
they are turn based, ridiculous random encounters serve as pretext for private jokes you won't understand and the combat system is terrible, I seldom saw worse.
You can still try fallout 1 if you don't believe me because it is shorter and overall better but don't even consider fallout 2, except as a museum piece to ornate the shelf above your desk. But then you need the boxed version because the digital download is not decorative
War...
War never changes.
Yes, F2 moreso than 1. However, F1 does have an important choice which is why the Kid in the Fridge quest for F4 can't work.
I'm fine with spoilers to be honest. Or atleast an explanation as to why the Kid in the Fridge quest doesn't work. I'm pretty intrigued now. Plus I was mainly leaning towards F2, so F1 spoilers aren't really a problem.
Therefore, the kid in the fridge, who's been stuck for 210+ years, should be long gone.
Same for Nick's rival, who also locked himself up with limited supplies for 210+ years without dying.
