Well the skill affects the amount of health YOU gain so why shouldn't it affect companions too if I heal them manually? That's all I want to know.

I believe the game treats it as you stabbing them with a stim directly, yes

I see, I'd really like a definative answer because I'd like to build a medic-ish class with a tanky companion....
