Is there a limit to the amount of time that can pass in this game though? Could you theoretically wait long enough that it becomes 2300 or even 3000?
Yes, time will just keep going.
You should be able to reach the year 9999 no problem in theory.
After that, the game might bug out if you try to play in the year 10,000 XD
In many games when you hit '99' of something and the value is only set to be up to tens, hundreds, etcetra, it usually resets. For example in some games you may collect 99 of something, since there is only 99 the game is not set for that value to equal 100. If you somehow glitch and manage toget one more, most games reset the value either to the default (In this example 0.) or to one more than the default value. Another common thing is the number glitching, becoming a mix of numbers, disappearing entirely and other things like that.
However I don't think the game itself will bug out if you reached the year 10,000.
(I just typed a paragraph explaining possible outcomes to a hypothetical scenario, what am I doing with my life?)
