I wouldn't use it because the game engine randomizes the DLC base ID prefixes for items for each playthrough. It can affect your saved games if you are not careful or load the main files and DLC first.

Yes it works. Use it for all Bethesda games, haven't run into any issues yet.

I use it. Never ran into any problems and I'm running 94 plugins (although its more like 100 plugins, but I merged many of them), without a single crash.

Huh? You're referring to the Load Order Optimization Tool, yes? https://loot.github.io/

It uses a Masterlist and the FalloutNV.esm and additional DLC plugins are always loaded first by default using LOOT.

Yeah..but the issue isn't load order. BaseID prefixes indicatingload order are randomzied by the game engine. So say you have Old World Blues in the second slot for the datafile list....First playthrough, all the BASE ID's for pretty mucht eh entire DLC pack might be 080XXXXX...second it could be 050XXXXX. LOOT will only help with load ordr, but the game engine might notrecognize the one set up by it if you load a saved game.

The prefix for form IDs are inherently dependent on the load order, which again depends on the last modified timestamps on the plugin files, which are the same for everyone that has not modified the timestamp with a mod manager. No randomization is occuring.

If OldWorldBlues.esm was loaded in the second slot (assuming you mean right below FalloutNV.esm) its form IDs would be prefixed 01. Every time. It doesn't change by playthrough, it depends entirely on the order you load your plugins.

The game will recognize that your load order has changed. As long as you account for master dependencies and record overrides, no harm should come from rearranging things.

Just don't load any mods before any of the DLC packages or even the main game.

I use it as well, never had any issues with load order for the main game & DLC files (follow the previous post and you should be fine).

Pay attention to mod descriptions though: if a mod mentions if it has to be placed at a specific place in the load order (say: after/before this or that mod, at the end of your mod list), check manually after running LOOT. (I have one mod that requires its esm files to be put at the end of the load order, and LOOT messes this up every time.)

Yes. I've never heard of LOOT doing this before, and I've been using it for years. Never has it loaded mods before the DLC or main esm.

LOOT works even better than its predecessor, BOSS.

I've never used it on Skyrim or NewVegas Never needed it but then I use less than 30 mods roughly.

This. I use LOOT even for older games like Oblivion, and I find it works better even then.
