Give it to me straight... Is this game worth playing in 2019?
Hey Guys,
I love RPG games, and tend to play the old ones (cough, not because i have a core i3 laptop cough...), and I was wondering if the gameplay and graphics for Fallout New Vegas hold up at least half decently. I'm not too concerned with the graphics, although I do want them to look OK.
Thanks for any responses/recommendations :)

I think you would love FNV - i am installing it again right now to play again! If you like big open worlds with loads of choice and great characters then its a no brainer. As for graphics it holds up pretty well, it looks alot better than say Oblivion for instance... Highly recommended

I would say so. Out of all of the Fallout games, New Vegas has the most factions and most choice. Plus you can get the ultimate edition with all the DLC for like $7 during sales, which is totally worth it since you can sink hundreds of hours into this game.

Yes. It's one of the best roleplaying games of all time.

I've been playing it since release, I still come back to it to replay each year, it is a big buggy game but it's one of those games that if it grabs you, it never seems to let go.
Gearing up for my own new playthrough now, my old laptop runs this game perfectly and console commands make sure I have a new challenge each time.
Get the Ultimate Edition on sale and give it a go, remember to save often and be wary of the casinos on the strip, they're where most of my bugs happen.

Yes, one of the best modern RPGs imo

Definitely!!

Make your own opinion, you're not them.

Yes. One of the few games that it's actually refreshing to go back to and replay after all this "modern" crap. Mods make it that much better.

Its a real game. Just lower the settings and enjoy the story. Put the light down for extra inmersive graphics. Your laptop will shine this game. Keep your settings in game sorted. Enjoy.

What are we doing NOT playing it in 2019? This is the easiest fallout to jump back into and pick up like you never left. I just finally finished getting all of the achievements and doing an Evil Char playthrough, 9 years later and I am still discovering new quests and getting the rest of the achievements. Graphics are fine, eat the meat and spit out the bones. You might have some crashes but that goes without saying.

Looking at the gaming franchise today, Fallout NV is probably better than most games coming out today despite being released nearly 10 years ago. It might be a bit buggy and the graphics may seem average but it truly is greater at everything else such as roleplaying, combat, story, exploration, diversity etc.
I remembered when I played through this game on xbox a few years ago. Probably one of my favorite games. Be ready for glitches though.
I've had a look at these comments and watched through the first couple episodes of a playthrough... and I think i'm gonna buy it. Although I will probably wait for a sale (even though its literally 12 dollars ;-;)

It will most likely be on sale in the June sale. Bethesda sales are a given.
You can get the game and DLC for 1/3 price.

Yes, the base game itself is worth playing and doesn't look terrible even now. It's even better with mods.
