Traits for shotgun build?
I originally went with fast shot and good natured, but I recently read online that fast shot doesn't benefit shotguns much. Assuming I'd want to keep good natured, what's another trait that would help? On other forums I read built to destroy and skilled are good, but the first doesn't seem like that much of a benefit (or maybe it's a huge benefit and I just don't know) and I'm already lv 24 so skilled doesn't seem to make much sense to pick now.

There are many ways how to use Shotguns.

Popular:
-Slug Ammu, Shotgun Surgeon, Finesse, better Criticals
-12 gauge, 4/0 buck magnum, And Stay Back, Center of Mass (V.A.T.S)
-Dragon's Breath Ammu, Pyromaniac, Shotgun Surgeon, And Stay Back

With the appropriate secondary armament you have a different game experience every time.

I love Shotguns, in games, in real, associated with alcohol as a ritual drunkenness...

You can even play golf with it ("Shotgun Start", yes, was an insider joke)
it is but limited on the number of shotguns sadly (though weapon ammo sorta makes up for it a little).

then again all other weapon types aren't exactly as diverse either. Best to pick shotgun build + another weapon like smgs or pistols since you max out guns anyhow to make it useful as possible. Possibly consider smgs or pistols if you got an AP / agility build. They also are long ranged enough to fill in the range gap without needing insane perks or stats.
Rifles not so much since they're the opposite effect (and benefit more from ranged and perception than other S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stats). Powerful but tbh much less slower since you have to manually reload unless you got a sniper rifle or varmit rifle (almost all other rifle types gotta reload manually 1 by 1).

Unfortunately (according to the wiki) pyromaniac doesn't affect ammo. It's a shame because I love db

Pyrommaniac affects Dragon's Breath Ammu. The fire damage is 8 per second for 5 seconds so 40 total and Pyromanic would just up that to 60 overall. If it does not, then you have a bug. sometimes he just happens that way an some mods can trigger this bug.

Extract from https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Pyromaniac

"[PC] While fire-based, ammunition is not affected by the Pyromaniac perk. [verified]"

Well, to test you probably want that perk that displays enemy HP and do some tests.

If I really cared I guess I could do that. But since it says it's been verified, I don't, and I won't
