Where can I safefully stock up/store my items?
Like I'm always at max with my items in my inventory. Now that I have a companion, she is also almost full on space. And it's not random items to sell, the majority of them are good loot.
But I just need more space xD.

I know you can store your items in your motelroom in Novac but i've read on the Wiki that it's not always safe, because random npc's can scavenge your stuff (when you are not around) which you'll end up losing almost everything.

Does anybody know where I could store my items in a safefully place? Safefully as in no chance of losing it by bugs/scavengers/... ?

Thanks in advance!

after i get to novac you unlock the room which is good enough for storing surrounding areas once you get rid of the ghouls

end-game would be the lucky 38 casino but geographically it sucks ass b/c the vendors are on freeside or outside the strip.

You actually wanna store your ♥♥♥♥ as close to the top vendors as possible. That includes:

-BoS if you plan on creating an energy weapons (mostly lazer weapons) character (weapons armor and ammo are pretty costly so mass selling items nearby is a good thing to store up on)

-Gun Runners (with or even without DLC). There should be some trash cans and storage containers nearby. Also new vegas clinic as others have stated but the closer the better

-Van Graffs are the anti-Gun Runners with plasma weapons instead of gun powder bullets and wooden / steel guns

-Hoover Dam theres a vendor that sells ♥♥♥♥. May take some convincing with a small speech check i think.

just don't store them in anything that refills like fridges or containers that regenerate ammo.

If you're playing a modded game I'd suggest the Mobile Truck Base mod. It's lore-friendly and you can 'move' your storage/Home to any major location you've already visited using flamer fuel.

https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/50978

Other than that the only really 'safe' place I can think of is the Lucky 38 but there's no guarantee and companions resting there won't pull the same shenanigans.

The truck home is a good thing though. Even have the option for it to 'display' any items it has in its inventories so the more crap you put in there the more lived-in it looks. (And never had companions/Random NPCs steal from it as far as I can tell.)

Complete quests at Novac, and they'll give you a room with plenty of storage containers.

Get to the Lucky 38 for a Penthouse Suite.

I played my whole first game (unmodded) using the box next to the chem set in Doc Mitchell's house for storage.

Nobody takes your stuff. You can safely store items in almost every single container in the game except ones that respawn, which are specific containers like legion drop boxes.

Early game: the dumpsters outside Chet's store in Goodsprings.

Once reaching Vegas: the garbage can right outside New Vegas Medical Clinic.

I have stored tons of stuff in these containers, and never lost anything.

This lists the safe and unsafe(or unknown if safe) containers.

I can vouch for this as someone else told me about it since I had the same concerns. Just be mindful which dumpster you put stuff in. I went back after putting many a thing inside one of them, came back and checked it many hours later and almost pooped myself as it was completely empty. Turns out I checked the wrong one. ^^!

I will say this though. I have tried to dump my gear in multiple containers, dumpsters usually, from different towns. When it comes time to collect and you need to repair or fix something, find that faction uniform as a disguise etc., you start fast traveling from place to place just looking for the exact parts you need, it becomes annoying. Just stick to one container and just keep going back to it.

I liked using Victor's Shack in Goodsprings, as it has a bed and four storage containers to allow for some sorting. One thing though is that it is a little jog from the fast travel spawn point for Goodsprings.

I've always claimed the abandoned shack in front of the goodsprings saloon for myself. The one that has the BB gun sitting on the TV stand. Have always been able to safely store things there.
