Whats your opinion on the trail carbine?
Like its really helpful for people who doesn't have something better or find a use for 44. something other than a 44. magnum or the mysterious magnum.

P.S. I was thinking with the idea of when you have no DLC or special variant of the other lever action rifles I.E la lounge carabine.

Trail Carbine is the top tier lever-action gun, much better than the .44 magnum counterparts.
I remember using it late in my first ever playthrough. It was what cemented me as a combat god.

Edit: I'm stupid. Confused Trail Carbine for the Brush Gun and only realized 10 hours later. Good counterpart to the .44 magnum.

It's nice to have options but I never end up using stuff like the Cowboy Repeater, Trail Carbine, Brush Gun or even This Machine / Battle Rifle. Stuff like that has always just been money to me, and not a weapon.

Always end up with the Sniper Rifle with a suppressor, Patience hunting rifle, and the Anti-Material Rifle.

Maybe I should expand my horizons a bit.

Well weapons like that are expensive or hard to find you need something which is still useful but costs less so that's why i find something like the trail carbine, useful in parts where your have basically no money like when you at Freeside or in thew Strip I found something like the trail carbine which can fixed to have a scope a nice use for my 44. as a sniper.

It's one of the most useful weapons in the game, and it's also available very early if you know where to look.

If you're looking for low maintenance weapons, then the Trail Carbine is quite nice. The weapon has very high durability, great accuracy, and does decent damage. Plus you can put a scope on it for long range shooting.

So yeah, if you like guns it's a solid weapon for general use. I wouldn't go deathclaw hunting with it though lol.

I like that it's a stable location weapon, so it's always there if I want it. I also like the look of it. Finally, it's great if you're taking Cowboy. I pretty much only use on Cowboy perk characters though, because there are better options otherwise.

It's useful I guess with the scope but the hunting rifle with the scope offers less spread and a bigger punch in my experience. Without the scope it's just a wimpy brush gun. It does have the benefit of using .44 SWC but honestly you can take down most foes with the brush gun using its regular ammo. It's also not as quick as the Cowboy repeater which is useful when 3+ baddies are charging you. The only thing I can think of that the trail carbine has over the others is that it looks really cool especially with the scope and the cut weapon mods.

Well DiscountLouisCK I'm looking at the game without any DLC and Fallout NV with DLC makes the brush gun a little more easy to find I.E Old world blues and Lonesome road. The brush gun is the best lever action rifle in the base game of Fallout NV and the trail carbine while not as fast as the cowboy repeater and not as powerful as the brush gun its useful. But after the fact when the cowboy repeater becomes useless basically and you don't have enough money or a high level for the brush gun to appear or being purchasable at vendors and the trail carbine can be found as a guarantee in some places, people can also carry the trail carbine at any level but if your thinking about La lounge carabine, than yes but this is the trail carbine which you don't have to steal or kill an important person, so i'm saying that from what I have done in game and getting your opinions on it I can say its a nice alternative for when you have DLC, no money, XP or don't want to kill or steal a gun from someone and when your old rifle like the cowboy repeater isn't doing enough damage its a Damn nice alternative. (P.S I know i didn't state it with the DLC part because I wanted to see peoples opinion without adding that extra detail)

I prefer the Brush Gun. But the trail carbine works especially if you find it early and need to deal with those pesky four legged and two legged critters.
