Why Are The White Legs So Tough?
I'm level 36 and these guys are just so hard to kill. .45-70, .50BMG, 40mm grenades, frag grenades, they don't give a ♥♥♥♥! I have a migraine now after completing this DLC, I wish I could just nuke Zion.

DLCs level with you, so the higher level you are the more your foes will take and dish out.

Hihihi, just nuke Zion :D.

An antimaterial rifle to the face usually works tbh and that was at levep 40 something.

They're some tough lads for sure. I honestly wished more of them had AMRs because that was the only thing I could effectively 1 shot them with, assuming I got a headshot from stealth.

Usually a Anti Material Rifle or a Gauss rifle will help you out :)

I recommend playing the DLCs in the exact levels the game considers "Recommended levels" OWB is level 15 and LR is level 25 although LR can really be played on any level. HH and DM don't show their levels although I'd put them somewhat like this:
HH: Levels 10-15
DM: Around level 15 and 20.
Because those are the levels where the enemies and skill requirments match up (you can feel this by fighting the enemies in both DLCs and using your skills DM needs to be able to be finished properly) with your level making it the perfect time to play the DLCs, but many players play them at the end of their games, which is bad because the DLCs become uncontrollably difficult to beat. Although LR can be played at the end cause of its stuff.

Thanks for the suggestion, that's probably why I've honestly been hating the DLCs I've played so far because they felt ridiculously tough, to me, in comparison to the base game where I suppose stuff doesn't level with you as much. I'll try to keep that in mind for future playthroughs! Thanks!

Its just stupid. Im level 50. All weapons maxed out. 5 shots at point blank rage to a normal enemy. 8% damage. I just deleted the game, this DLC doesnt worth my effort (after spend months to finish the normal game)

I didn't find them tough at all. I started the DLC at lvl 34. Went in with All American Carbine and modded 9mm pistol.

Are you playing on very hard?
Anvos Mar 31, 2021 @ 2:32pm
Honestly most of the DLC stuff gets a bit bullet spongey.

I really think the date at which these discussions are posted should be in big red letters that blink or something.

im playing in very hard, not hardcore. But is just tedious to spend one or two minutes running from a basic enemy. The other DLC felt more dynamic to play

Protip: difficulty in modern Fallout games just means enemies get higher HP, Defense, and Damage. All setting difficulty to Very Hard will do is make enemies bullet sponges.

I saw this thread earlier, got nervous and over prepared. So far, it hasn't been necessary. I'm just doing what I've been doing in LR and OWB. So far, I think the Irradiated Marked Men are much stronger than White Legs. Just made level 43, not sure if the enemies scale this high?

SOP:
-Sneak attack for 100% crit chance,
-Raise base critical chance and use a weapon with a good crit multiplier when not hidden.
-Use a weapon with high damage and higher crit damage either way, when possible.
-They all seem lightly armored, been using HP ammo, but usually do in Paciencia.
-Buff with consumables, as needed (Psycho+Slasher, Jet+Rocket, Rushing Water or Turbo....)
-Brought along a supply of Steady, for long range VATS fire-fights.
-Let the follower tank, shoot enemies from behind, in the head.
-AMR explosive rounds, if enemies are bunched up, but so far haven't needed it.
-CoS when being quiet, but I usually just target multiple eneies with Paciencia in VATS.
-Paciencia with HP ammo, is seeing the most use so far.
-All-American if I have to throw a lot of lead, but haven't needed it so far.
-Lucky: Similar to CoS (x2.5 crit multiplier, perks, etc.), I'm at 105% crit chance.

I've just started but the pain, storm, and light variants die easier than the bones, so if I have to choose one in a pack to die first, while sneaking, it is the bone.

add-
Just hit 44th, thought about Sneering Imperialist... maybe that would help someone if they are having problems.

If the character build is not very good at crits, take the Ratslayer (x5 crit multiplier), snipe the enemies and apply status effects to head, extremeties, or break their weapons, then fight them.

That's why. Very hard makes very bullet spongey enemies which is very not fun.
