GECK Not Displayng Topics/Conditions/Much of Anything.
http://prntscr.com/dfxbnm

Found a video that says it's to do with a Windows 8 update, which on uninstalling said update, the GECK went back to displaying things as normal. However, I'm on Windows 10, and that update does not exist. Does anyone know how to fix this? I can drag all the column names from left to right every single time I do anything, and bring that to its logical conclusion in lighting my PC on fire, but I'd rather find a workaround instead of that. Cheers, helpful people.

Edit:
--BEST SOLUTION THUS FAR--
Click on the box you wherein wish to expand the columns, and just press Control and + (the plus sign on the number pad). It expands all columns to an adequate size.

I don't know if this will help, but try deleting the geck's ini files.
GECKPrefs.ini
GECKCustom.ini

For me on Win7 they are located in Documents\My Games\FalloutNV

There is no fix for it that I'm aware of.

Thanks, JDC, but it didn't work. Thought about compatibility mode but have heard bad things and haven't tried yet.

HOWEVER:
If you click in the box that you want to expand, you can press Ctrl and then the + sign on the number pad, and everything expands.

I don't love it but I don't hate it even a tenth as much as dragging every single column meticulously every single time I click on any tab or menu.

Didn't know about that shortcut, thanks for posting it. It'll be useful to me despite not having the issue on Windows 7. :)

Oh I'm sure. Don't think I've seen a single problem post where you didn't offer an answer. Over the course of like, three or four years or I'm mistaken.

The problem doesn't appear on Windows 7. I have a dual-boot setup, Windows 10 and Windows 7, and if to want to do any editing involving dialogue topics, I need to do them using the GECK with Windows 7. For some reason the text just doesn't show up with Windows 10. Same with any "Conditions" text that should appear in things like perks etc.

Oh, I know it doesn't happen on Windows 7, what I meant was that the shortcut is useful information despite this.

I gave it a try but it didn't do anything. At least I can still use Windows 7 if I need to change anything in those areas. It's rather strange that all that text isn't showing up though, it's a very selective problem.

It's a bit fastidious about how you do it. You click on the box that should have the columns, then hold contol and press the + that's on your number pad. Sometimes it doesn't work, and I click again on the box and press control and +, and sometimes I have to do this twice or thrice and I think sometimes it's even a couple times more, but it eventually always works (so far).

Other thing is to check your keyboard layout. I'd be shocked if it doesn't work on American English, and I can confirm it works for Irish English and Irish Irish. But maybe some other languages' layouts won't work. And I could see a laptop possibly giving you a problem as well.

Just tested American and it works. And be sure that it's your number pad, not the + sign above the letters.

I managed to get the quest columns to expand using that shortcut, but it did nothing for the topics not appearing. Though that is a rather handy shortcut that I didn't know about before. There's always situations where I'm manually expanding columns in order to read the text listed. It can save me a bit of time for sure.

Really? Because I have the topics expanding the same way. Seems weird for it not to work for everyone but I suppose any thing's possible.

Listen, if you do a lot of GECK editing, would you know any thing about making a custom radio? I have another recent post on here about that and scouring the internet for a couple of days is starting to do my head in. If you know any thing about radios in GECK, I'd appreciate your having a look.

Sorry, I can't help you there. That's not something I've ever done before. You could probably pick up a few ideas by looking at one of the existing radio mods though.

No bother, I'm sure I'll hit on it eventually.
