Can I locate an item using console commands?
Putting aside obvious jokes about how dumb I am, I've lost my Euclid's C-Finder and I want to know if it is possible to locate it with console commands.

I've Googled around and found no answer.
The gun could be anywhere, on the floor somewhere, inside a container.. I have no idea.

I don't want to use cheats on this run I'm doing, so I don't want to spawn myself a new one.
What I want is its location so I can go there and pick it up.

Pretty sure that's impossible. Inventory objects are not persistent references like for example most NPCs. Spawn a new one with AddItem, it is no more cheating that using a command to locate the first one.

Dang. Guess I'm going forward without it then.

I don't want to use commands in a permanent way because I read that would affect my Steam achievements.

just load an old save when you still had it.

I'm sorry but so many of the reasons why I use the console have feck-all to do with cheating and are generally debugging, so I use this and have no shame.

Using the console only restricts for the current play session. Add the item, save game, close game completely, start game, load save and you're good to go.

I always thought that the use of the controls affected the achievements, not that this mattered to me much, but in my game they haven't worked since I added some bullets to the character, a long time ago. I don't know if I can fix it because in my last game I used FPGE and therefore I only kept the last saves, they are more or less thirty and also the main quest saves have been eliminated, they were over 700 and since I didn't need them anymore I have thought to free up some space. If I wanted to try to recover the achievements, should I use a mod?

JIP LN makes the use of the console not block achievements. Everyone should use JIP LN in general. Tonnes of engine fixes.

Also, this thread is from four years ago...

What a stunning display of thread necromancy.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
