There's a nightstalker cave with a suit of Reinforced Combat Armor near the road to Novac from Nipton.

Deadwind cavern by the primm pass just south of the repconn test site (south west of novac)

South of Jacobstown and West of Red Rock Canyon is a secret trail with some very nice loot.

Here I will give u some locations from the early mid and end game. Early, Goodsprings school, Nightstalker cave, repconn test site, Mid, Bison steve (if you have a high lockpick for Lucky) The dead money dlc (you can walk out with a lot of good stuff to sell including some gold bars) old world blues, End Lonsom road (you can actully do this as early as level one and get some good gear because it lets you leave) and honest hearts. Thats all I do when I play the game

The best loot can be found in Quarry Junction , just north of goodsprings. The place is full of molerats, so its a perfect place to gear yourself up at the beginning of a playtrough

Doesnt Quarry Junction have Deathclaws though? Or is that another place that im thinking of

If you want to just become powerful just go east until you find the Hidden Vally. Find a way inside by doing a bunch of sidequest or talk with Veronica and be allowed in. Join BOS and get free Power Armor. However I think you should instead of knowing where all stuff is take the opertunity to roleplay. You need to seperate what you as the player know and what your character know.

Atm I am playing Tales of Two Wastelands and start in Fallout 3 in the Capital wasteland instead of the mojave desert. That means I solve the things in Fallout 3 and as I want to join the NCR I will when I later go to the west of the US go through New Vegas, then continue to NCR and works as a courier only to deliver the package to the divide and then go back to New Vegas to deliver the chip which get me shot in the head. That means I already been in the Mojave and knows where the big locations are.
